Not everything happens on the water. Team events cover meetings, pot-lucks, volunteer shifts at a regatta, fundraisers, and season-planning sessions.

The difference from a practice: instead of claiming one of twenty identical seats, you claim a specific slot.

Examples:

• A pot-luck with slots for mains, sides, dessert, drinks, and you claim what you’re bringing
• A regatta volunteer schedule with slots for marshalling 8–10am, water station 10–12, tear-down 4pm
• A season meeting with a plain attendance slot

You can claim more than one slot at a team event, and each claim takes its own note. Each slot has its own limit, so a popular one fills.

Claim the slot you can actually cover. Volunteer shifts in particular are what keeps a club’s race entry in good standing; when a slot sits empty, someone on your committee ends up doing it on top of their own day.
